The WSB Higher School of Business, with close ties with Chicago's National-Louis University, is considered one of the best private places of learning in the country. It even aims to become the first private university in Poland, and currently a ‘multimedia town' is being built at the school. Film studios, a digital television centre and offices of IT businesses are to be built for 130 million euros in the town.
"It's designed as a combination of research and development centre, business incubator, investment fun, school and multimedia youth centre," says Kinga Pawłowska, responsible for the project at the WSB.
Those supporting Nowy Sącz's Hollywood are said to include Andrzej Wajda and Krzysztof Krauze. So no surprise that the school's authorities are bursting with optimism.
"Who said new technologies have to develop in capital cities or metropolises! After all, the people are the most important. And their competence and enthusiasm," says Krzysztof Pawłowski, the business school's rector.
